Sidehill Farm started making this jam at the request of their favorite Vermont cheese-mongers who wanted a locally made fig jam to accompany cheese plates. But there are plenty of other uses for this gourmet pantry staple: for breakfast on toast, for lunch as a sandwich spread, for dinner as a meat glaze or pizza topping, and for dessert as an ice cream topping.

Further Reading: The folks at Sidehill Farm take pride in preserving the taste of homemade jam using the same methods their great grandmothers used to assure there is more fruit, and therefore more flavor, in every bite. They use only the finest fruits and boil them down the old fashioned way, without added pectin, preservatives or artificial ingredients. The rest of the world is coming back around to the idea of “slow foods”, but at Sidehill Farm there has never been any other way to do it.
