Artist Statement:
Valkyrie is the symbol of the warrior within, the strong and powerful woman warrior who battles the unseen. A continuation of my “Tiny Weapons” series from the Ring A Day challenge of 2017. Valkyrie brings forward the power to stand strong in the face of adversity, be it a pandemic, a major loss or an unfortunate societal viewpoint that keeps you from reaching your dreams. We all have battles we face, the power to overcome them is the realization that the hero lies within our own hearts.
This piece is made from repurposed steel and bronze, copper from the connectors of a welding ground clamp and an aluminum rivet. The maker is a blacksmith and this ring is entirely forged by hand using traditional blacksmithing techniques.
